Pakistan Livestock Research Scientists Association President Dr Hafiz Muhammad Matiullah has said that the veterinary viral diseases has created panic world-wide, including Pakistan, causing huge losses every year.

Speaking at a seminar here on Thursday, Dr Matiullah said formation of a comprehensive national livestock policy, capable to bridge the gap between livestock production and its growing demands, was dire need of the hour.

Presenting documentary proofs, he claimed that curative treatment of these viral diseases, especially of foot and mouth disease (FMD), had been developed by homoeo researchers of Pakistan and certified by thenational agricultural institutions and European Union.

Dr Nasir, another expert of livestock, said the homoeo research was not only cheap, easy to use and free of aide affects for human beings, but was also effective and curative.

The participants laid their full faith on the research, and demanded of the authorities, including President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi, to make this research an essential part of national livestock policy.
